About Our Local League

What is Our Purpose?

The League of Women Voters of Blount County, LWVBC, is a nonpartisan group of women and men who seek to organize and foster open conversation, education, and voter registration. It is our aim to empower people to engage fully in the political process.

LWVBC History

Founded in 2005 as a Member-At-Large State Unit, the League of Women Voters of Blount County was granted Full Local League status in 2008. LWVBC was officially recognized at the June, 2008 national convention and is the first new chapter in Tennessee in twenty years.
